From our dentists, to reception staff, each member of our team endeavors to provide expert dental care in an empathetic but always professional manner. We genuinely care about making you look and feel good.

Dr Iqbal is the owner and Principal Dentist of a chain of multi award winning dental clinics located throughout Scotland.
Providing the most advanced orthodontic care in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere, Dr Iqbal has over thirteen years’ experience providing high end dental treatment and is renowned for being an expert in treating even the most anxious of patients. Qualifying in 2008 from the University of Dundee, he is now working towards a Master’s degree having already completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Warwick. Following on from this, Dr Iqbal now practices exclusively in orthodontics. He is currently a clinical speaker for Align Technology, lecturing fellow dentists on the Invisalign system. Historically year on year he has been one of the largest treatment providers of Invisalign in the UK, having achieved the much coveted Diamond provider status.
Stuart graduated with Honours from the University of Dundee in 2012 and from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MFDS) in 2014.
After undertaking training years in Maxillofacial Surgery (Fife) and Restorative Dentistry (Glasgow Dental Hospital), he started with us here at G1 Dental in 2015.
Stuart is experienced in all aspects of dentistry and has particular interest in Cosmetic Dentistry including Invisalign, Composite Bonding, Whitening, and Veneers. He is working towards his Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry. Using up-to-date techniques, Stuart enjoys working with patients to straighten and brighten their smiles.
Hilary Taylor, BDS, Dundee 2008. GDC Number 147931
Hilary graduated from University of Dundee in 2008 and Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP) in 2013. She worked in a busy family practice in Grangemouth then Shawlands providing all aspects of general dentistry to a wide variety of patients before joining G1 in 2022. She is a personable, caring and ethical dental professional who strives to deliver the best care to all her patients in a relaxed friendly manner. She believes in educating and supporting her patients to make choices that benefit their mouths and overall well being. Outside the surgery she has worked in clinical support and teaching roles for the wider dental team.
Raeed Sheikh, BDS Glasgow 2017, MFDS (RCSPG) GDC Number 270624
Dr.Raeed Sheikh graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2017. He has also obtained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow by way of examination. Since graduating, he has embarked upon a series of postgraduate education within the field of advanced restorative and aesthetic dentistry. Currently he is undertaking a Master’s degree in implant dentistry from the University of Madrid as well as a diploma in oral surgery.
Raeed prides himself in making sure his patients are comfortable, well Informed and relaxed during their course of treatment. He routinely uses high magnification combined with the best available materials to deliver the highest standards of care.
Whilst away from dentistry, Raeed enjoys playing music, with the piano being his favourite instrument. He also enjoys spending time with his family.
Gurveer Basi, BDS, Glasgow 2017. GDC Number 270554
Sunny is one of our lovely dentists here at G1 Dental. He graduated from Glasgow University in 2017. Since then he did a stint in Hospital carrying out minor oral surgery and working with community special needs. Sunny enjoys all aspects of dentistry, in particular aesthetic restorative procedures, facial aesthetics and short-term cosmetic orthodontics. He has recently completed a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry. Out with dentistry, Sunny enjoys playing a variety of sports including golf and tennis.
Cameron Gray, BDS, Dundee 2017. GDC Number 271177
He has undertaken further training in the restoration of dental implants and oral surgery. He is happy to undertake the removal of retained, fractured or buried roots including wisdom teeth.
He enjoys working with nervous and dentally anxious patients and is also able to provide intra-venous midazolam sedation if required for treatment.
Away from the surgery he enjoys playing golf, travelling and socialising with friends and family.
Emma Hall, Practice Manager, GDC Number 293908
Emma is our Practice Manager who has worked at G1 Dental since 2019. Having never done dental nursing before, all training was carried out right here in practice. Emma qualified with an SVQ in Dental Nursing at SCQF level 7 SQA 2020 and has been GDC registered since 2021. Emma went on to become our Lead Nurse two years ago and has recently worked her way up to Practice Manager. Emma is trained in sedation nursing and has special interest in surgical procedures including implant nursing and surgical extractions. Emma wishes to continue her professional development (CPD, attending further education courses to ensure up to date with best practice, guidelines and legislation). In her spare time she enjoys going to gigs/concerts, enjoys fashion and anything travel related!
Colette Ballantyne, Dental Hygienist. Diploma in Dental Hygiene 1999. Registration Number 5598
Colette Ballantyne, our registered dental hygienist, qualified at Edinburgh Dental Institute in 1999. Since then, Colette has acquired extensive hygiene experience in some of the best private dental practices in Glasgow & Edinburgh.
Her mantra is to promote the highest standards of dental hygiene with an outstanding service ethos. Her calm and friendly manner puts anxious patients fully at ease. She works hard to motivate her dental hygiene and educates patients on how to maintain their Dental Implants and helps them to help combat common dental problems tooth staining and bad breath.
She will also help prevent gum disease, which affects a huge proportion of the population and, if left unattended, is the biggest single cause of tooth loss. They provide an invaluable preventative service to help ensure your teeth and gums remain strong and healthy for life.
Colette is also very experienced in tooth whitening and has up-to-date knowledge of the latest teeth whitening products and dental whitening techniques.
Colette’s greatest satisfaction is achieving a beautiful, bright smile for her patients, and giving them back their confidence to ultimately boost their self-esteem and general wellbeing.
